A Day in the Life Part I
5:30 a.m. My daddy, Chris stealthily attempts to get out of bed without waking me up. Because I now have the hearing capabilities of a predatory African lion on the Savanna, I almost always hear the rustle of the ties in the closet. He thinks he can do something without me getting involved. Ha! I'll show him!
5:32 a.m. I scream to let my presence be known. After all, who do you think rules the roost around here?
5:35 a.m. Yesssss. Picked up by mommy. Score.
5:40 a.m. Yum. She knows just what I want.
5:45 a.m. I think I'll flip the pacifier to decide whether to wake mom up now, or later....mmmm....falling back to sleep in bed with mom....zzzzzzz....I can hear mom's sigh of relief.
7:00 am. Sometimes mom needs a little reminder when I decide it's time to get up. NOW! I scream to make sure she's getting with the program. She can be so lazy!
7:30 a.m. Diaper change. Whew. I needed that.
8:00 a.m. We rock n' roll down the stairs to the kitchen. Mom eats some weird solid stuff with lots of butter. She looks tired. Maybe it's because I still wake up twice a night to make sure she is doing her job well! No slacking in my house!
8:15 a.m. I'm dropped in my activity center.
I like to whirl this one toy to make a sound. I also like to grab anything I can get my hands on and place it in my mouth. Yum. Tastes like dust and old fabric.
8:45 a.m. I'm bored Mom! Also feeling slleeeeepyyyy....I start rubbing my eyes. Mom takes me upstairs for some warm milk and another nap. This is the life.
9:30 a.m. Mom tries to work while I sleep, but I make sure to keep an eye on her. She knows that her real job is to take care of #1--ME.
9:45-11:00 a.m. Time to wake up. We walk around. Sometimes mom gives me a bath because she likes to see me surprised. It just never seizes to amaze me when I am placed in warm liquid. It's kind of like bathing in a bunch of warm milk.
I love milk so much....getting hungry again. MOM--food! She just doesn't get it sometimes! She needs some more training. This is an entry-level job. I expect her to be Vice President by next month. Can you guess who is President around here?
I'll whip her into shape.
11:00 a.m. I like to watch mom do laundry. Sometimes she makes me do tummy time. We all know how much I hate that. She just doesn't seem to get it. Lately she is trying to entertain me with mirrors and toys. I keep seeing this same baby over and over again. She keeps smiling at me like I'm an idiot! What's up with that?
12:00 p.m. Diaper is dirty. Mom changes it for me while I smile up at her. She needs to know she is doing a good job.
12:30 p.m.I like to take another short nap around lunch time. Mom makes lunch for herself first, then I eat. Can you believe that? Who is more important around here anyways?
To be continued....
